Chaka Adventures - Destinations and Attractions

Tanzania attractions and destinations is one of the most diverse and enchanting countries in the world. Exotic combinations of landscapes, people, history and culture offer the traveller a unique and inspiring experience. There is the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and the sun-kissed beaches of Zanzibar, the vast herds of game grazing on the Serengeti plains and the slow volcanic eruption of Ol Donyo Lengai. With so much natural wealth, it?s no wonder that Tanzania has something for everyone.

Lake Niassa (known also as Lake Malawi)

Lake Niassa (known also as Lake Malawi) is one of Mozambique?s hidden tourism gems. Once the stomping grounds of explorer David Livingstone, Lake Niassa offers crystal clear azure waters, unique species of fish, deserted white sand beaches, and hundreds of hidden coves and rocky outcrops.

This ?Lake of Stars? as Dr. Livingstone refers to it, is the third largest freshwater lake in Africa and borders Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania. 75 kilometers wide and 560 kilometers long, Lake Niassa is also the fourth deepest freshwater lake in the world.

With very little habitation and development, the Mozambican side of the lake offers visitors a taste of true wilderness. More adventurous visitors are gradually discovering the lake?s clear blue waters against a backdrop of mountain escarpment and the region?s compelling combination of forest, wildlife, endemic marine life and traditional culture.

This remote destination provides the perfect getaway - far from the bustle of every day life and, in certain areas, far from cell phone reception. It is an eco-tourist?s dream - remote and undiscovered.
